Join us to hear from national thought leaders and regional business voices to chart a path forward. 

Unleashing Prosperity: the Fraser Valley and Canada’s Economy is a Lunch event hosted at the Chinook Helicopters Hangar. This timely gathering will explore how one of Canada’s fastest-growing regions—the Fraser Valley—can help drive national prosperity amid shifting global and domestic conditions. 

Featured speakers include:  

  • Stewart Muir, CEO of Resource Works 

  • Stewart Muir is a globally recognized communicator and founder of Resource Works, where he champions responsible resource development as key to economic prosperity, environmental sustainability, and Indigenous partnerships. With more than three decades in journalism, including serving as deputy editor of The Vancouver Sun, Muir brings deep expertise in shaping public discourse, policy, and media narratives.


  • He established the Indigenous Partnerships Success Showcase (IPSS), highlighting collaborations between Indigenous communities and resource industries, and hosts the Power Struggle podcast, exploring the real-world impacts of energy policy and supply chains. As a leader of initiatives like Unleashing Canadian Potential (UCP), and with a master’s in environmental history from UBC, he remains a trusted advocate for Canada’s resource economy.


  • Tracey Bodnarchuk, CEO of Canada Powered by Women 

    • Tracey Bodnarchuk is the CEO and one of the co-founders of Canada Powered by Women, a non-partisan, non-profit organization amplifying women's voices in shaping Canada's energy future. With over 20 years of leadership experience, she has held senior roles at Deloitte, KPMG, Norton Rose Fulbright, SAP, Microsoft, and Suncor Energy.

      A Journalism graduate from Toronto Metropolitan University, she also completed executive programs at Queen’s and the University of Toronto. Recognized as a Calgary Top 40 Under 40 alumna, Tracey actively serves on the boards of the Saddledome Foundation and the Alberta Hospice and Palliative Care Association.


  • Ed Fast, Former Minister of Export Promotion, International Trade and Economic Development of Canada 

  • Ed Fast, Former Minister of Export Promotion, International Trade and Economic Development of Canada, is a distinguished figure in Canadian politics. Representing Abbotsford in Parliament from 2006 to 2025, he held senior cabinet roles under Prime Minister Stephen Harper, including Minister of International Trade and Minister for the Asia–Pacific Gateway. In these capacities, he advanced Canada’s trade agenda, leading negotiations for the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) with the European Union, finalizing Canada’s investment agreement with China, and launching the Global Markets Action Plan. He also introduced Canada’s first International Education Strategy to attract global talent. Throughout his career, Fast has championed economic growth, strengthened international partnerships, and advanced policies supporting Canadian competitiveness at home and abroad.

  • How do we weather trade volatility and ensure goods produced in the Fraser Valley reach global markets? 

  • What role does infrastructure investment play in strengthening Canada’s competitiveness? 

  • How can industries from agriculture to clean tech position our region as an engine of growth? 

  • How can we build on what we have to attract major projects?

The program will include a moderated panel discussion led by Chamber CEO Alex Mitchell.
